What is manual therapy?
Manual therapy is hands-on physical therapy: skilled mobilization of joints, focused soft-tissue release, and myofascial techniques performed by your PT. We use it to free stiff joints, calm guarded muscles, and restore the movement that lets you train, work, or live without thinking about pain. Manual therapy works best paired with the right exercise — we do both, in the same visit, every visit.
Common conditions we treat
- Stiff or painful neck and shoulder
- Mid-back and rib mobility issues
- Low back pain with limited motion
- Hip and pelvic stiffness
- Knee pain after surgery or injury
- Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
- Tennis and golfer's elbow
- Plantar fasciitis and foot pain
What to expect
- Detailed evaluation — we look at the painful area AND the regions above and below that may be driving it
- Hands-on treatment that varies by visit: joint mobilization, soft-tissue release, myofascial work, instrument-assisted techniques (IASTM) where helpful
- Movement re-training in the same session so changes carry over to daily life
- A home program you'll actually do — short, specific, and tied to your goals
