Terms of Service & SMS Terms

These terms apply to District Physical Therapy ("DCPT," "we," "our," or "us"), operated by DCPT LLC. They cover two things:

1. SMS Terms & Conditions — the text messaging program you may choose to join.
2. Website Terms of Use — the rules for using districtphysicaltherapy.com.

How we handle the information described here is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Part 1 — SMS Terms & Conditions

About the program

If you opt in, District Physical Therapy sends text messages to the mobile number you gave us. This is a patient communication program, not a marketing list.

Messages you may receive:

• Appointment reminders and confirmations
• Scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation messages
• Care coordination and follow-up about your Physical Therapy treatment
• Billing and insurance questions
• Replies to messages you send us

We do not send promotional or marketing text messages.

How you opt in

You join the program by giving express written consent. There are exactly two ways to do that: check the SMS consent box on our patient intake form, or check the consent box when you submit an appointment request on this website. Both are unchecked by default, and we never add a number to the program without one of them.

Separately, if you start a conversation with us by text, we will reply by text about that conversation. Starting a conversation does not sign you up for appointment reminders — that still takes one of the two checkboxes above.

Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of treatment or of any purchase. You will receive the same care whether or not you agree to texts. You must be 18 or older, or the parent or guardian of the patient, to enroll a number.

Frequency, cost, and delivery

• Message frequency may vary. How many messages you receive depends on your appointments and on any conversation you start with us.
• Message and data rates may apply.Your mobile carrier's standard rates apply to messages you send and receive. We do not charge you for text messages.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on text messaging for anything urgent.

How to opt out — reply STOP

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message from us. We also honor STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT. After you opt out, we stop sending you text messages. You may still receive phone calls, email, and mail from us, and we will still provide your care.

To start receiving texts again, ask our front desk to re-enroll your number, or check the consent box the next time you complete a form.

Privacy of your mobile number

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.

We do share your number with the vendors who actually deliver the messages — our telephone and messaging provider and our practice management system — and only so they can send them on our behalf. Those vendors may not use your number for their own purposes. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Text messages are not a secure channel. We keep the content of our messages brief and avoid sensitive clinical detail. Please do the same, and call us instead if you need to discuss your condition.

Part 2 — Website Terms of Use

Using this site

By using districtphysicaltherapy.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Not medical advice

Everything on this site is general information about Physical Therapy and about our practice. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment plan, and it is not a substitute for being evaluated by a licensed Physical Therapist or physician. Using this site does not create a patient–provider relationship. Never delay seeking care because of something you read here.

Appointment requests

Submitting the appointment form sends us a request, not a confirmed appointment. Your appointment is scheduled only when our staff confirms it with you directly. Please do not include diagnoses, conditions, or other sensitive health details in the form — call the clinic instead.

Our content

The text, images, logos, and design on this site belong to DCPT LLC or are used with permission. You may read, print, and share pages for your own personal use. Please don't copy, republish, or use them commercially without our written permission.

Links and third-party services

We link to other sites we don't control and aren't responsible for. This site also includes Google Maps features and content. Your use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the then-current Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and limits

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be correct, current, or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent the law allows, DCPT LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits our responsibility for the care we actually provide you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes to the SMS program will be communicated to enrolled numbers before they take effect.
