Referral and authorization
Tricare Prime usually requires a referral from your Primary Care Manager (PCM); active-duty service members route through their MTF. Tricare Select typically allows direct access for outpatient PT, with pre-authorization rarely needed for the first round of visits. We verify your specific situation at intake.
What you'll typically pay
Active duty: no out-of-pocket cost for medically necessary care with proper referral. Active-duty family, retirees, and Tricare Select: copays vary by sponsor status and enrollment year — most patients pay $0–$30 per visit. Tricare for Life: Medicare primary, Tricare secondary picks up most or all of the remaining cost.
Conditions we commonly treat for Tricare patients
Service-related orthopedic conditions (back, knee, shoulder, ankle), post-surgical rehab (rotator cuff, ACL, meniscus, lumbar surgery), combat- and post-deployment musculoskeletal pain, vestibular rehab (post-blast, post-concussion), TMJ, and return-to-PT-test work conditioning.
How to get started
If you're active duty, work with your PCM or MTF for the referral. If you're a family member or retiree on Tricare Select, you can usually book directly. Call us with your Tricare card — we verify benefits at intake, usually same day.
