What is total joint rehab?
Total joint replacement is one of the most common — and most rehab-dependent — surgeries in orthopedics. The first 6 weeks set the trajectory for the next 20 years of that joint's function. Our PTs specialize in total knee, total hip, and total shoulder replacement rehab, with structured protocols that coordinate with your surgeon's. We do clinic-based care, in-home visits for the early weeks when driving is hard, or a combination — whatever fits your recovery best.
Common conditions we treat
- Total knee replacement (TKA)
- Partial knee replacement
- Total hip replacement (THA) — anterior, posterior, lateral approach
- Hip resurfacing
- Total shoulder replacement
- Reverse total shoulder replacement
- Revision joint surgery
What to expect

- Weeks 2–6: increasing activity, beginning resistance work, normalized gait pattern, restored ROM milestones
- Weeks 6–12: progressive strength, balance, and return to higher-demand activities (golf, hiking, work)
